St. Colman's Death and his Sacred Tomb

St. Colman's Sacred Tomb at Kilmacduagh, Ireland

he hour was near when he was to be summoned to exchange a life of unceasing austerity and labour for a life of unending bliss. He longed to leave this Earth and be with his God. He humbly requested that his body be buried at his Cathedral church at Kilmacduah, and leaving to his diocese the rich inheritance of his example and the fruits of his labours, he yielded up his soul to His Maker on the 29th of October A.D. 632, in the pontificate of Honorius I. The feast day of the glorious St. Colman Mac Duagh has been observed in the Catholic Church from time immemorial on the 29th of October.
